Fighting Cancer with Nutrition Workshop

On Wednesday, November 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Grant’s Nutrition and Wellness will offer a class on Fighting Cancer with Nutrition. Class discussions will include preventative lifestyle recommendations, benefits of good nutrition during cancer care and managing side effects during cancer treatment with nutrition.

More than 1.5 million people in the United States get cancer each year. While cancer prevention is still being researched, we do know that chances of developing cancer are affected by the lifestyle choices that are made. According to the National Cancer Institute, new research shows as many as one-third of all cancer deaths are linked to diet and physical activity.

“Eating a healthy diet and being physically active are very important to reduce cancer risk and important for people diagnosed with cancer, both during and after cancer treatment. Eating a well-balanced diet and staying nourished during cancer treatment can keep a person strong and provide the nutrients the body needs to tolerate and recover from treatment. The stronger the body, the faster it can heal,” states Jane Grant, Registered Dietitian and Certified Health Coach.

Grant’s Nutrition and Wellness, 37 Webster Square Rd, Berlin. The cost of the class is $25.00 per person, 20 person limit. Call or e-mail to reserve a seat. Jane Grant, 860-357-2282, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
