Golfers and Sponsors Needed for Golf Tournament Benefiting Local Food Banks

ShopRites of Canton and West Hartford are seeking support for the 7th Annual Partners in Caring Golf Tournament on May 22 at Farmington Woods in Avon. The tournament raises funds to support regional and local food banks in Connecticut, which feed thousands of people. Sponsors, donors and golfers are all needed for this worthy cause.

Since its inception in 2010, Joseph Family Markets, owner and operator of the ShopRite of West Hartford and Canton, has raised more than $181,000 to fight hunger in West Hartford and Canton through the Partners in Caring initiative, and the golf tournament has been paramount in these efforts.

“As a local, family-owned business we are committed to give back to the community and help those in need. This tournament is just one of the many ways we support the local fight against hunger throughout the year,” said Chuck Joseph, President and CEO of Joseph Family Markets. “Our local food banks work tirelessly to help feed our hungry neighbors. We are proud to support these efforts, and appreciate the partnership and generosity of our neighbors, customers and sponsors.”

Event festivities will begin at 11 a.m. and include several golf-related contests, a raffle and a silent auction. Golfers must register by Monday, May 15.
